WHAT IS A TENDERPRENEUR/

What is a Tenderpreneur? by SIDNEY COAD WILLIAMS DEPICTED ABOVE.

A tenderpreneur is a person having the right connections

in the corridors of power such as a government of a particular country or a municipality and obtains contracts with a sub contractor

who in turn obtains a contract with a contractor who actually performs the conditions contained in a contract.

EXAMPLE

A person with the requisite contacts in government or municipal structures of other influential body

tenders for a contract with said government or municipality

He or She then contracts with a subcontractor

who in turn contracts with a contractor

who actually performs the conditions of the contract.

Each participant gets the agreed cut of the profits.

This practice is reported by the media in South Africa to be prevalent when the state or municipalities

tender for goods or services.

This practice enriches those with the right connections at the expense of the tax payer and the poor.

In normal circumstances the person or initiator of a contract will ask for tenders

and then choose the contractor who will actually perform the service or supply the goods.

The tenderpreneur phenomenon is enriching the few at the expense of the many.

The poor who read about these shenanigans in the newspapers or see it on television

become outraged

and are prone to respond by public demonstrations.

These tenderpreneur practices which allegedly include the crimes of fraud and corruption by officials

are reportedly prevalent in many countries worldwide.

The end result is that goods and services are reportedly acquired at excessively high prices and are paid by taxpayers

funds.

The final result is that the poor and the tax payers are those who suffer the consequences and they express their

dissatisfaction in no uncertain terms.

THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM IN MANY COUNTRIES WORLDWIDE.
